Way back in 2007 I came across a bunch of Twitter posts about NaNoWriMo. It’s NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth for those of you normal people out there. Every November people use the power of their online community for support and encourage one another to write that novel that keeps getting put off by life’s various distractions.
For those of us with different ambitions, yet still enjoy want to participate in the camaraderie, an alternative was presented. Write a blog post at least once a day for the entire month. This is called NaBloPoMo: National Blog Post Month. That is how Slight Turbulence was born.
This year, KidA is a seventh grader and her English teacher challenged them to participate in the youth version of NaNoWriMo. To support her and challenge myself, I’m giving NaBloPoMo a go. It’s been a while since I’ve posted consistently and I think we’ll help keep each other on track. A great mother/daughter bonding. That and maybe I’ll be able to say NaBloPoMo without pause by the end of the month!
