Christina here! I live in the beautiful state of Hawaii and in a comfortable niche somewhere between bliss and insanity – Hence the title of my blog: Slight Turbulence!
I was born in Texas and lived there, California, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and on four of the Hawaiian islands. After graduating from Kohala High School (in the 80’s!), I went on to the University of Hawai’i at Mano’a.
I got married (in the 90’s!) and now have three beautiful children. My son, KidC is in 10th grade, my daughters, KidA and KidI are in 8th and 5th grades. (That’s where the C-A-I in @cai_mommy comes from!)
I’ve worked for the Department of Education since 1987 as a part-time teacher (Waipahu Elementary & Kanoelani Elementary), 1st grade teacher (Red Hill Elementary), reading resource teacher (Helemano Elementary), technology coordinator (Hale Kula Elementary), and 6th grade teacher (Kalei’opu’u Elementary). Presently, I am a teacher in an administrative position managing a federal grant for the Waipahu complex schools.
The DH (darling husband, Cris) is a fire fighter with the Honolulu Fire Department.
My mother is a retired school principal, my father is a retired air traffic controller on Molokai (he commutes!) and I have one sister, Robin, who lives the country life with her family in Hoolehua. Her oldest son attends college on O’ahu and is my “go-to” sitter when Cris and I have date night.
We attend Bethel Chapel Assembly of God in Waipahu where my father-in-law is the senior pastor. My brother-in-law is an associate pastor. He and his wife have a three-year old (NephewC). My other brother-in-law lives in Japan with his wife and one-year old daughter (NieceH).
See! So much material to blog about! Enjoy!
